Clayton

test test testClayton became involved in collecting in 1969 after going to reside at his uncle’s home in Mona Height where two newly found friends, Dwight, and Carlton, his brother Warren and cousin Michael and himself decided to form a Disco ‘ THE FANTASTIC 5’ which later became ‘The Ovation’. The group attended multiple parties every weekend to get an idea of what was being played, by the big sound systems to the small party sets. For Clayton, Soul is his real love, and the collecting became more serious when he migrated to New York and was exposed to some of the deeper stuff outside the top 10. One of his influences along the way was Mickey Barnett at Brad’s Records. Clayton’s only regret is that he didn’t know then what he now knows. His collection has grown to include other genres such as Rocksteady, Ska, Jazz and Latin but it is still a work in progress.
